Pay Per Click Advertising – Avoiding The Landmines

August 29, 2010 | Author: | Posted in Affiliate

If you are an internet marketer you are probably avoiding pay per click. Running pay per click ad campaigns can be quite costly, which is the main reason a lot of internet marketers avoid pay per click altogether. After all, you don’t want to spend money online but to earn it! However, the good news is that if you stick to a few simple tips, you will find it easy to control your campaign expenditure and recreate prior successes. To be successful with PPC advertising you should adopt some of the following ideas.

You need to remember the whole cost of the campaign. It might not appear like a lot of money, spending a nickel on a single click. After doing some math, though, you might discover than $0.05 per click can work out to a lot of money. If people click twenty times you will end up paying $1. Five dollars will get you a hundred clicks. Just think of all the people who will click on your ad just because it seems interesting, considering the number of people who use the internet. Do you have that much money to spend? You need to make sure you calculate everything before accepting or bidding on a campaign. You may end up deep in debt! Always make sure you’re using both plural and singular terms in your campaigns. The plural keywords often can be very good, profitable, to use; so be sure to check those and test them. Always make sure you are correctly using your keywords and words in your ad text. Stay away from inappropriate plural forms of words – be sure to check. You can attract attention with the improper use of words, but it’ll be the wrong kind of attention. Ads that are not written well, or contain inappropriate words, tend to almost never get clicked on.

Always do split testing with your ads in your PPC campaigns. Remember, PPC campaigns involve short ads, and you don’t have a lot of space or words available to sell viewers on your product. So you’ll need to very quickly get attention and persuade them to click on your ad. If you put together a few different ads in each campaign you can test to see which ads yield the best results. You won’t have to worry about making the same mistakes in future campaigns, and can focus on replicating past successes.

Naturally, you need to advertise your products in order to make sales and money. It’s a numbers game and you need traffic in order to maximize your sales. You’ll need to capture as much of the market share with your ads as you can do. Hopefully these tips can help you get off to a good start with your PPC campaigns.
