Being fabulous is hard work, it takes a lot of up keep and can cost a small fortune ( Well, a large fortune in my case). Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way, but I am here to hopefully help some of you avoid the debt-ly mistakes I made. Well, we all know a girl need shoes and handbags and lip gloss and weekly manicures, but what we don’t need is to put ourselves in debt. I figured this out after I was knee deep in it, I mean 5 figures deep, with only a closet full of things I didn’t wear anymore to show for it.

I had to dig my way out of this huge hole I put myself in, I had to be fabulous on a budget. Let me be the first to tell you, it was not fun. Window shopping became my best friend, all I could do was watch new trends pass me by for 2 years. I thought I would die at first, but managing my personal finances became easier as the days passed and I eventually came to terms with living on a budget. To help me understand how to be fabulous on a budget I took a personal finance training course at my old college and started reading books about it. Personal finance for dummies and I will teach you to be rich are great books that I recommend to everyone. Now my friends come to me for help with their finances, they call me the “frugal diva”. LOL!

Ladies and gentlemen being broke is not fabulous in any way and with the world in the shape it is in, I suggest you take a serious interest in personal financial planning. I am living poor that there is such a thing as living fabulous on a budget. I might do my own manicures now, but they still look great and I have much more in my savings account. Well, I hope I make a difference in someone’s life or at lease left you with something to think about. Be fabulous inside and out, head to tow and bank account to credit card.
